A full dental examination
Removal of dental plaque and/or stain from the surfaces of all teeth
Topical application of remineralising and/or cariostatic agents to all teeth
Advice of toothpaste and medicaments may be included
Photos inside the mouth associated with dental diagnosis and/or clinical procedures
Soft tissue assessment including the gums, tongue and lip ties, and other soft tissue findings
Orthodontic assessment – helps identify any bite issues, tooth misalignment, incorrect spacing or overcrowding, and if there’s enough room for the adult teeth to come through correctly
Paediatric airway assessment – this screening may help identify patients at increase risk for sleep related breathing disorders
Dental decay assessment, oral hygiene status and risk analysis
Recommended treatment (if any)
Referrals to other specialties – GP, myofunctional therapist, Ear Nose and Throat specialist, paediatric dentist, orthodontist etc.
Cost
For all children eligible under Medicare’s Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) we will bulk bill Medicare so there is no out of pocket cost to you.
Medicare’s CDBS is a program that provides eligible children and teenagers aged between 0 and 17 up to $1158 in benefits over 2 calendar years for basic dental services. Your child is eligible when all of the following applies:
- they’re eligible for Medicare
- they’re between 0 and 17 years old for at least one day that calendar year, and
- receive a relevant Australian government payment, such as Family Tax Benefit Part A, at any point in the calendar year.

If your child isn’t eligible under Medicare’s CDBS they can still receive their dental treatment at a fixed cost of $75 (payable in full before our visit). If you have private health cover that includes dental we will issue you an invoice after your child’s treatment to make a claim.
